A Talented and Ambitious Husband and Wife Duo Take Real Estate To The
Next Level While Serving Their Clients With Good Old Fashion Values
Both from ranching families and small communities, JT & Jamie Haynes strongly believe that values, morals, and strong character are the cornerstones of a good business. JT was raised on a ranch, where his parents still reside today, in the eastern Panhandle in McLean, Texas with a population of 800. His father, a rancher turned Methodist pastor, and his mother, a CPA, instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of always trying to exceed people’s expectations. Jamie was raised in Brady, Texas, where her father is a fourth-generation rancher and mother a pharmacist.
JT and Jamie would meet at Texas Tech in Lubbock in between Jamie’s sophomore and junior years, where she was getting a degree in Management Information Systems. JT was finishing his senior year and completing his degree in Agricultural Science. Jamie was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and JT was on the Texas Tech Rodeo Team. They both loved to attend Tech football games and tailgating events in the fall. JT decided to continue on to get his Master’s Degree to stay close to Jamie. It was at this time that JT decided to get his real estate license. They got married and moved to Amarillo in December 1997 where JT took a job with in Agricultural Sales for Micro Chemical, now Micro Technologies. Jamie got a job with Maxor and then with Anderson Merchandisers, where she worked for 8 years doing System Administration, Application Development/Programming and Quality Assurance.
During this time, they would have their two amazing boys, Quinn and Cort. Jamie was able to go part time at Anderson so she could work on her Master’s Degree at WTAMU at night, and JT went on to work for Bayer Animal Health as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. While working toward her Master’s Degree, Jamie decided she wanted to take a “fun class”. It was between photography and welding since her dad taught her how to weld at a young age. The welding classes were too many hours at night, and a camera was less expensive. So, she chose photography. After that class, Jamie was hooked and decided to open her own photography studio, H Gallery, in 2006, in the Canyon Business Park. Meanwhile, JT ended up with his first real estate listing on a major street that would start his phone ringing and open him up to a new career path.
In 2009, JT acquired his Texas Broker’s License and started Triangle Realty, LLC. Panhandle native Randie Baumann was the company’s first agent to join the team. They all worked out of the H Gallery studio together. With real estate clients wanting to view properties at night and on the weekends, as well as photography clients needing sessions at the same time, Jamie and JT were literally meeting on the side of the road to swap kids. So in 2011, Jamie sold her business to Adair Photography, got her real estate license and joined JT in a new space for Triangle Realty at 7669 Canyon Drive. By the end of 2011 the brokerage sales for Triangle Realty had exceeded $19.5 million.
JT and Jamie became a power couple that took their brokerage to new heights. JT said, “We really compliment each other well because my weaknesses are her strengths. So, it’s a good combination.” JT is the likable salesman with all the connections, and Jamie is the tech & marketing genius behind the scenes making sure all of the details are taken care. “I venture to say that because of her computer background, we are one of the most tech savvy companies in town,” JT says, crediting Jamie for pushing the brokerage forward. “She spends hours and hours researching new systems, new technologies, and new tools to make everybody, including our 45 agents, more efficient. Which in turn, benefits each of our clients.” Triangle has an extensive website with their background story, helpful tips and articles, and it is the only website in the Texas Panhandle that incorporates complete REALTOR® listings from multiple communities (area MLSs). This means you can search for an Amarillo, Lubbock, and Pampa area property all in one place.
Over the next few years the brokerage would see massive growth and expansion. By 2013, the overall brokerage sales had exceeded $30 million. In 2014, Triangle Realty joined the Pampa Association of REALTORS® and Lubbock Association of REALTORS®. It was also at this time that JT partnered with two long time colleagues, mentors, and friends to start Legacy Land Auctions, LLC., a farm and ranchland auction company. The expansion continued as JT acquired his New Mexico Broker’s License in 2015 and his Oklahoma & Colorado Broker’s Licenses in 2016. By this time, the overall brokerage sales exceeded $74 million, and JT was #4 in sales according to the Amarillo Association of REALTORS®. In 2017, Triangle Realty was named one of America’s Best Land Brokerages according to The Land Report magazine. 2018 was another banner year, as the auction business moved in an exciting new direction, joining forces with Superior Land Auction to create the Superior Land Network, a nationwide farm and ranch marketing network and auction company. Triangle Realty’s tagline “exceeding expectations” is more than just a saying -- it’s the way they do business and run their company. According to Jamie, “We really try to go above and beyond to make our clients happy and everyone involved happy and to get to the end goal of selling the property or finding someone a home -- no matter what we have to do to get there.”
When asked what sets them apart from other real estate agencies, Jamie replied, “We’re local for one. We’re not a national chain. It’s JT and I at the end of the day, and it’s our reputation and our names on the line. It makes us very selective with the agents we bring on, because we feel like they are representing us and our values, morals, and ethics.”
Triangle continues to grow and expand with roughly 45 agents and a staff of 10 full-time employees who support those agents and the brokerage as a whole. They truly work as a team with a unified vision and aggressively pursue continuing education and impactful training. Jamie is currently working on an online training platform, and they stay abreast of new trends and ideas by being part of a national coaching program with mentors who coach some of the top-rated agencies across the country. So, they are able to learn not only what works in our market, but also what is working in other markets.
JT and Jamie have always given back to their church and the community personally, but wanted find a way to give back within their business and with their agents. Jamie was inspired by the Proverbs 3:9 verse “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.” So in 2015, Triangle Realty created the First Fruits Program.
When every agent has a closing and turns in their documentation to the brokerage, they have the opportunity to give some of their hard earned commission to a community charity of their choice, and each agent’s contribution is matched by the brokerage at the end of the year. Jamie says, “I love that they can give to things they are passionate about and benefit their own community.” In 2018, they were proud to donate over $18,000 to various local charities.
Triangle Realty specializes in farm and ranch property, hunting and recreational property, rural property, horse properties, feedyards, and residential property. And although they have the reputation of being a “ranch and land” brokerage, 40 of their 45 agents strictly sell residential listings. Whether you’re buying a home or land, you want to work with people who are local, who truly know the lay of the land, and can give you the homegrown perspective. When you work with Triangle Realty, you’re working with people who are embedded in our community. JT explains, “We are the true mom and pop business. We’re from here, we’re raising our kids here, and we’re scratching it out every day with long hours as a team. Along with that, we are involved in our community and it’s a priority for us to give back.”
When asked what they would like to see for the future of their brokerage, Jamie replies, “World domination. Last year our brokerage was actually #3 in our region in total sales volume, according to the Amarillo Association of REALTORS®. We are definitely the #1 local agency. Stats are out for the first quarter of 2019, and we’re ahead of one or the areas largest brokerages, and I think that’s really cool!” Beyond their outstanding sales numbers topping off at $121 million last year, JT, Jamie, and their amazing staff are here to build a legacy. According to JT, “Jamie’s family established their ranch 121 years ago, and mine established our ranch 119 years ago. With Triangle Realty, we’re trying to build out a name that future generations can come back and run.” Through their hard work, dedication and expertise, they would love to exceed your expectations in buying or selling your next home or property in the Texas Panhandle and surrounding areas!
